Alexis is an independent journalist. She has lived in New York City, Boulder, Colorado; and Bristol, United Kingdom; and Almaty, Kazakhstan. She speaks English, Russian and German.

In July of 2023 she received her Bachelor of Science in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol.

She has written for The Bristol Magazine, The Bath Magazine, and University of Bristol’s Helicon Magazine. She also runs a Substack with articles covering political and cultural topics, also featuring her photography and several longform interviews.
